Airbus A318 wet lease
An Airbus A318 wet lease can provide aircraft capacity together with crew, maintenance and insurance under the agreed commercial structure. The A318 is the shortest member of the Airbus A320 family and may suit programmes that need fewer seats than a typical A319 or A320 operation.
The aircraft model alone does not determine suitability. The approved seating layout, baggage requirement, engine type, aircraft condition, operating base, schedule and airport performance all form part of the assessment.

A318 engine and cabin configuration
A318 aircraft may use CFM56-5B or PW6000-series engines. The exact installed engine model affects maintenance planning, technical support and operator suitability. The enquiry should identify any engine requirement, but the individual aircraft records must confirm the final specification.
Passenger capacity also varies. Seating depends on the approved cabin layout, exits and installed interior. State the minimum seats, seat type, baggage allowance, galley requirements and any accessibility needs rather than relying on a generic model capacity.
Building an Airbus A318 ACMI programme
ACMI covers aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance. The supplying AOC holder operates the aircraft under its Air Operator Certificate and retains the applicable operational responsibilities. The proposed schedule and commercial programme must fit the aircraft, crew plan, maintenance arrangements and regulatory approvals.
For an initial assessment, provide:

- Contract duration, expected monthly block hours and number of sectors.

When can an A318 wet lease be useful?

- Adding scheduled capacity where a larger narrow-body may provide unnecessary seats.
- Defined programmes requiring an A320-family cockpit and cabin platform.
Availability in this aircraft type can be limited. A useful enquiry should therefore state whether the A319 or another acceptable narrow-body aircraft may also be considered.

An A318 fitted with a corporate cabin serves a different requirement from a standard passenger ACMI aircraft. Corporate seating, auxiliary fuel arrangements, baggage capacity and onboard facilities vary by aircraft. Each proposal therefore requires the individual cabin plan and aircraft specification.
For a corporate or VIP requirement, state the passenger number, routing, cabin expectations and whether you require a single charter or a longer operating programme. This page does not treat a corporate A318 configuration as interchangeable with an airline passenger aircraft.

Depending on the requirement, the solution may involve aircraft owned or managed by ACMI Lease, aircraft placed or dry-leased with partner AOC holders, aircraft acquired or financed with our involvement, established AOC-partner capacity or selected third-party capacity.

Is an A318 currently guaranteed to be available?
No. An aircraft is considered available only after confirmation by ACMI Lease and, where applicable, by the responsible AOC holder for the proposed programme.
Is the A318 the same size as the A319?
No. The A318 has a shorter fuselage and normally serves a lower-capacity requirement. The proposed seating plan and schedule should determine which aircraft is suitable.
Do all A318 aircraft use the same engines?
No. The A318 was certified with CFM56-5B and PW6000-series engine options. Confirm the installed engine model from the individual aircraft records.
Can an A318 support a short-term ACMI requirement?
