ACMI Lease

Airbus A321 ACMI Lease, Wet Lease and Charter

Airbus A321 passenger and freighter options

Start with the passenger capacity, dates and routes you need. Identify the required A321 variant, or tell us which alternatives you can consider.

Passenger — A321ceo
A321-100 · A321-200
Passenger — A321neo
A321neo · A321LR and A321XLR for separate programme assessment
Freighter conversion
A321P2F — cargo configuration assessed separately

Potential aircraft options for assessment. An aircraft is considered available only after confirmation by ACMI Lease and, where applicable, by the responsible AOC holder for the proposed programme.

ACMI Lease assesses Airbus A321 ACMI lease requirements for airlines adding scheduled capacity, covering maintenance or preparing for seasonal demand. Passenger aircraft can also serve whole-aircraft charter programmes for tour operators and organised groups.

Send the minimum seat requirement, operating base, routes and programme dates. We can then assess suitable A321 aircraft against your schedule, cabin needs and preferred commercial arrangement.

Request Airbus A321 capacity

Airbus A321-200 wet lease

An A321-200 wet lease may suit passenger programmes that require more seats than an A320 configuration can provide. Airlines may consider it for peak-period schedules, replacement flying, route development or aircraft delivery delays.

The A321-200 belongs to the A321ceo family. Airbus publishes a maximum of 220 passengers for the A321ceo, although individual aircraft may have fewer seats. A request for 220 seats therefore requires an appropriate approved seating plan and a review of the proposed routes.

Passenger reference
Up to 220 passengers for A321ceo, depending on the approved cabin layout.
Aircraft length
44.51 metres.
Engine families
CFM56-5B or IAE V2500, depending on the individual aircraft.
Wingspan
35.80 metres when fitted with Sharklets; confirm the installed wing-tip configuration.

The A321-100 is another ceo variant. If one is proposed, assess its individual weight and performance data rather than applying A321-200 assumptions.

Airbus A321neo wet lease

An A321neo wet lease needs its own aircraft and programme assessment. The neo uses CFM LEAP-1A or Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM engines, depending on the aircraft, and differs from the earlier ceo in its engine technology and aircraft specification.

Airbus publishes seating for up to 244 passengers on appropriately configured A321neo aircraft. This is a model maximum, so it should not be assigned to every neo offer. The installed cabin, approved exit arrangement, seating pitch and onboard facilities determine the usable passenger layout.

Passenger reference
Up to 244 passengers, subject to the aircraft’s approved configuration.
Aircraft length
44.51 metres.
Engine families
CFM LEAP-1A or Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM.
Wingspan
35.80 metres with Sharklets.

A321LR and A321XLR

The A321LR and A321XLR are extended-range members of the A321neo family. They incorporate different fuel and aircraft arrangements, so a standard A321neo offer should not automatically be treated as an LR or XLR.

For a longer sector, provide the route, passenger numbers, baggage and service requirements. The responsible operator must confirm the exact aircraft configuration and route capability. Mentioning these variants does not establish current ACMI availability.

Choosing the cabin and route capability

Start with the minimum passenger capacity and the cabin features your programme needs. For example, premium seating, extra legroom, galleys, lavatories and baggage requirements can change the aircraft selection. Ask for the seating plan for the actual aircraft offered.

Route capability also depends on payload, aircraft weight options, fuel requirements, winds, reserves and airport conditions. Consequently, a published maximum seating figure and an advertised range should not be treated as a promise that both are achievable on the same flight.

Building an Airbus A321 ACMI programme

ACMI covers aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance. The supplying AOC holder operates the aircraft under its Air Operator Certificate and retains the applicable operational responsibilities. The commercial schedule must fit the agreed operating and regulatory framework.

Provide the route schedule as well as the expected monthly block hours. Several short sectors create different crew, maintenance and base-support requirements from fewer long sectors, even when the total flying hours are similar.

  • Operating base, destinations and preferred start date.
  • Contract duration, monthly block hours and expected sectors.
  • Minimum seats, cabin layout, baggage allowance and catering needs.
  • Any aircraft-age, engine or variant requirements.
  • Airport restrictions, traffic rights and operating permissions.
  • Positioning, crew-base and maintenance arrangements to be agreed.
  • Flexibility on aircraft type, start date and programme length.

Fuel, airport charges, ground handling, positioning, crew accommodation and other costs need a clear allocation in the offer. See what an ACMI lease includes for the wider service structure.

Airbus A321 charter for tour operators and groups

A tour operator or event organiser can request an Airbus A321 charter for a departure, return journey or series of flights. Start with the group size, airports and travel windows, then specify the cabin and baggage needs.

Sports teams should include equipment as well as passenger baggage. Similarly, holiday programmes should identify each departure and return rotation, particularly when loads differ between flights. These details help establish whether one aircraft configuration can serve the programme.

Choose FULL CHARTER in the request form for a whole-aircraft flight or series, or ACMI for an airline capacity requirement. Read about aircraft charter flights for tour operators and groups. For pilgrimage movements, see Hajj and Umrah aircraft charter and ACMI.

A321P2F freighter ACMI and cargo charter

The A321P2F is a passenger-to-freighter conversion and requires a separate cargo assessment. A passenger A321 seating plan or passenger performance reference does not describe a converted freighter.

For a cargo enquiry, specify the conversion, shipment weight, volume, piece dimensions, loading requirements and any dangerous goods. Recurring airline freight programmes can be assessed through Cargo ACMI Lease. For a dedicated shipment or flight series, see Air Cargo Charter.

How ACMI Lease develops the proposal

Depending on the requirement, the solution may involve aircraft owned or managed by ACMI Lease, aircraft placed or dry-leased with partner AOC holders, aircraft acquired or financed with our involvement, established AOC-partner capacity or selected third-party capacity.

The proposal identifies the aircraft, commercial arrangement and responsible AOC holder for the programme. For passenger enquiries, request the seating plan; for cargo, request the loading specification. These details help confirm whether the aircraft meets the requirement.

Airbus A321 leasing questions

Is the A321-200 the same as the A321neo?

No. The A321-200 belongs to the earlier ceo family. The A321neo uses newer engine options and a different aircraft specification. State which variant you require or whether both can be considered.

Can we request 220 or 244 passenger seats?

Yes. State the minimum seat requirement together with your baggage and cabin needs. Airbus publishes maxima of 220 for A321ceo and 244 for appropriately configured A321neo aircraft, but the actual offer must have the required approved seating layout and route capability.

Can a tour operator request a series of flights?

Yes. Submit the routes, dates, expected passenger numbers and any flexibility. A series charter can be assessed as a whole-aircraft programme; recurring flights do not automatically require an ACMI arrangement.

Can an A321 support a short-term wet lease?

A short-term or seasonal programme may be considered. Practical lead time depends on aircraft location, maintenance status, crew readiness, positioning and the required approvals.

Are the aircraft variants listed here confirmed available?

No. An aircraft is considered available only after confirmation by ACMI Lease and, where applicable, by the responsible AOC holder for the proposed programme.
