Examples for assessment, not confirmed inventory. An aircraft is considered available only after confirmation by ACMI Lease and, where applicable, by the responsible AOC holder for the proposed programme.
ACMI Lease assesses Airbus A330 ACMI lease, wet-lease and charter requirements for passenger and cargo programmes. The family includes shorter- and longer-fuselage passenger aircraft, current A330neo variants, a factory-built freighter and passenger-to-freighter conversions.
A request for “an A330” is therefore only a starting point. Passenger capacity, cabin layout, route length, payload, loading requirements and airport compatibility must be matched to the precise variant and aircraft.

Airbus A330 variant guide
| Variant | Role | Programme considerations |
|---|---|---|
| A330-200 | Passenger | Shorter-fuselage passenger variant; assess the cabin, engine, weight standard and route requirement. |
| A330-300 | Passenger | Longer-fuselage passenger variant; useful capacity depends on seating layout, baggage, route and airport performance. |
| A330-800 / 900 | A330neo passenger | Newer-generation passenger variants; availability, cabin and programme economics must be established separately. |
| A330-200F | Factory freighter | Purpose-built freighter; match payload, cargo volume, loading positions, route and ground handling. |
| A330-200P2F | Converted freighter | Passenger-to-freighter conversion based on the A330-200; use conversion- and aircraft-specific loading data. |
| A330-300P2F | Converted freighter | Longer converted freighter; volume and payload profile should be evaluated against the proposed cargo programme. |
The current family selector includes the A330-900 as its A330neo reference. Any A330-800 requirement must be assessed separately and should not use the A330-900 radius as an exact substitute.
A330-200 and A330-300 passenger ACMI
The A330-200 and A330-300 may be assessed for scheduled airline capacity, seasonal peaks, fleet replacement, network launches and defined passenger programmes. The A330-200 has a shorter fuselage, while the A330-300 provides a different balance of cabin capacity, underfloor volume and route capability.
The commercial model name does not define the seating plan. Two aircraft of the same variant may have different seat counts, premium cabins, galleys, crew-rest arrangements and baggage capability. Provide the minimum seats, cabin requirements, baggage assumption and intended service pattern.
For ACMI, the proposal also needs an operating base, route schedule, contract period, block hours and expected sectors. A dedicated flight or agreed series may instead be assessed under a full-charter structure.
A330neo ACMI and wet lease
The A330neo family comprises the A330-800 and A330-900. A new-generation aircraft request should identify the required variant rather than using “A330neo” alone. Fuselage length, cabin, payload-range requirement and delivery availability affect the commercial assessment.
A330neo availability in the ACMI market cannot be inferred from general fleet numbers. The proposed aircraft, operator, delivery window and programme must be confirmed before the variant is presented as an option.
A330 passenger capacity for seasonal programmes
An A330 may be considered when a programme needs more passenger and baggage capacity than a narrow-body aircraft can provide. Seasonal airline demand, replacement cover and pilgrimage movements can all require different cabin and schedule assumptions.
For Hajj or Umrah movements, provide the outbound and return dates, passenger numbers per sector, departure airports, preferred Saudi gateway and baggage requirements. See our dedicated Hajj and Umrah aircraft charter and ACMI page for programme planning details.
Airbus A330 freighter ACMI lease
The A330-200F, A330-200P2F and A330-300P2F may be assessed for scheduled freight routes, peak-season uplift, replacement capacity and cargo network development. The A330-200F is a factory-built freighter; the P2F aircraft are passenger-to-freighter conversions.
Factory-built and converted variants should not be treated as interchangeable. Usable cargo volume, payload, loading positions, structural limits and approved range depend on the variant, conversion standard and individual aircraft.
For recurring airline freighter capacity, visit Cargo ACMI Lease. If the objective is to move a particular shipment or secure dedicated flights, review Air Cargo Charter.
Selecting an A330 freighter variant
Start with the route and cargo profile. State the expected payload and volume, pallet or container requirements, cargo density, frequencies and handling restrictions. An aircraft that fits the weight may still be unsuitable for the required volume or loading arrangement.
The A330-300P2F offers a longer fuselage than the A330-200-based freighters, but greater volume does not automatically make it preferable. Route length, payload density, utilisation and airport infrastructure need to be considered together.
Where several variants are acceptable, say so in the enquiry. That allows potential factory-built and converted aircraft to be assessed against the same operating requirement without suggesting that their specifications are identical.
Understanding the A330 range map
The map displays manufacturer-published reference ranges for supported passenger and freighter variants. Each figure has its own mission basis. Passenger maximum-range references should not be compared directly with freighter figures based on a stated cargo payload.
Actual capability depends on the precise aircraft, engines, certified weight, cabin or cargo configuration, payload, reserves, winds, routing and airport performance. The responsible AOC holder must confirm each route using approved operational data.
How Airbus A330 capacity may be provided
A proposed solution may involve aircraft owned or managed by ACMI Lease, aircraft placed or dry-leased with partner AOC holders, aircraft acquired or financed with our involvement, established AOC-partner capacity, or selected third-party capacity. The structure depends on the aircraft and programme.
Under a standard wet lease, the supplying AOC holder provides the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance and retains the applicable operational responsibilities. Use of the lessee’s airline designator and flight number may be possible subject to approvals, but the flight number does not determine the governing AOC.
For the general structure and allocation of operating responsibilities, read what an ACMI lease includes.

Airbus A330 availability questions
Are all the listed A330 variants currently available?
No. They are aircraft types that may be assessed, not confirmed live inventory. Availability must be established for the required variant, dates, configuration and programme.
Are the A330-200F and A330 P2F aircraft the same?
No. The A330-200F is a factory-built freighter. The A330-200P2F and A330-300P2F are converted passenger aircraft with different fuselage and loading characteristics.
Does the map confirm that an A330 can operate a route?
No. It provides an indicative published reference. The precise aircraft, payload, fuel policy, weather, routing, reserves and airport performance must be assessed before any route is confirmed.
Send your Airbus A330 requirement. Every proposed programme remains subject to confirmation by ACMI Lease and, where applicable, by the responsible AOC holder, together with aircraft availability, operational feasibility, regulatory approval and agreed commercial terms.
