Boeing 777 passenger and freighter variants
Potential long-haul aircraft options for passenger ACMI, wet lease, cargo capacity and whole-aircraft charter programmes.
- Passenger variants
- 777-200 · 777-200ER · 777-200LR · 777-300 · 777-300ER
- Freighter variants
- 777F · 777-300ERSF
Examples for assessment, not confirmed inventory. An aircraft is considered available only after confirmation by ACMI Lease and, where applicable, by the responsible AOC holder for the proposed programme.
ACMI Lease assesses Boeing 777 ACMI lease, wet-lease and full-charter requirements for airlines and organisations seeking long-haul passenger or freighter capacity. The correct variant depends on the programme: passenger numbers and cabin configuration for passenger operations, or payload, loading arrangement and cargo volume for freight operations.
Send the routes, dates, expected utilisation and preferred aircraft variant. We can then assess whether an appropriate Boeing 777 solution may be commercially and operationally feasible.

Choosing the appropriate Boeing 777 variant
| Variant | Role | Programme considerations |
|---|---|---|
| 777-200 / 200ER | Passenger | Established long-haul variants; evaluate the exact cabin, engine, weight standard and maintenance status. |
| 777-200LR | Passenger | Extended-range passenger variant for missions where route length is a primary requirement. |
| 777-300 / 300ER | Passenger | Higher-capacity variants; airport compatibility, cabin layout, baggage demand and schedule must be assessed together. |
| 777F | Factory freighter | Purpose-built cargo aircraft for long-haul freight; assess payload, pallet positions, cargo density and airport handling capability. |
| 777-300ERSF | Converted freighter | Passenger-to-freighter conversion based on the 777-300ER; it is not the same aircraft as the production 777F. |
This page focuses on established 777 passenger and freighter variants relevant to the leasing market. New-generation 777X aircraft require a separate assessment based on actual delivery status and programme availability.
Passenger Boeing 777 ACMI and wet lease
A passenger Boeing 777 can be assessed for long-haul scheduled capacity, seasonal peaks, fleet replacement and special passenger programmes. Aircraft selection begins with the required seats and route, but the actual cabin is equally important. Two aircraft carrying the same model designation can have materially different seat counts, premium cabins, galleys, crew-rest facilities and baggage capability.
For an ACMI programme, provide the operating base, proposed schedule, monthly block hours, expected sectors and contract period. The responsible AOC holder must also assess airport performance, crew planning, maintenance support and the regulatory approvals required for the operation.
If your requirement is a dedicated flight or defined series rather than continuing airline capacity, the same aircraft family may instead be considered under a full-charter structure. Passenger configuration and availability remain aircraft-specific.
Boeing 777F cargo ACMI lease
The Boeing 777F, also described as the B777F or 777 freighter, may be assessed for regular intercontinental cargo routes, peak-season uplift, network expansion and replacement capacity. A cargo ACMI proposal must be based on the operating programme rather than the aircraft name alone.
Provide the planned payload and cargo volume, pallet or container requirements, route pattern, airport handling capability and any special cargo restrictions. Dense freight, volumetric freight and unusual pieces can produce very different aircraft requirements even when their headline weight is similar.
For recurring or seasonal airline capacity, see our Cargo ACMI Lease service page. For a specific shipment or defined series of dedicated flights, review Air Cargo Charter.
Boeing 777F and 777-300ERSF are different
The 777F is a factory-built production freighter. The 777-300ERSF is a passenger-to-freighter conversion of the 777-300ER. Their fuselage length, cargo volume, structural configuration and payload-range characteristics differ, so the designations should not be used interchangeably.
When requesting cargo capacity, state whether the programme requires a specific variant or whether either type may be assessed. The range map above uses separate reference data for each supported freighter variant.
What determines the usable Boeing 777 range?
The map displays published reference ranges, not guaranteed operating radii. The usable distance for a proposed flight depends on the exact variant and aircraft, certified weight standard, engines, passenger or freight payload, cabin or cargo configuration, reserves, winds, routing and airport conditions.
For passenger services, seats, baggage and onboard equipment affect payload. For freighter operations, cargo density, loading positions and structural limits matter alongside total weight. The operating AOC holder must perform the route-specific assessment using approved aircraft data.
How Boeing 777 capacity may be provided
A proposed solution may involve aircraft owned or managed by ACMI Lease, aircraft placed or dry-leased with partner AOC holders, aircraft acquired or financed with our involvement, established AOC-partner capacity, or selected third-party capacity. The structure depends on the aircraft and programme.
Under a standard wet lease, the supplying AOC holder operates the aircraft and retains the applicable operational responsibilities. The lessee may use its airline designator and flight number when permitted, but the flight number does not determine which AOC governs the operation.
For a general explanation of Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance, see what an ACMI lease includes.
Request Boeing 777 capacity
For an initial assessment, send:
- Passenger or freighter requirement and preferred Boeing 777 variant.
- Operating base, routes, airports and proposed schedule.
- Start date, programme duration and any flexibility.
- For passenger operations: seats, cabin requirements, baggage assumptions and expected load.
- For cargo operations: payload, cargo volume, loading configuration and any special freight.
- For ACMI: estimated monthly block hours, sectors and typical sector length.
- Required approvals, aircraft-age preferences and budget guidance, if available.
Use the aircraft request form below and choose ACMI for an airline capacity programme or FULL CHARTER for a dedicated flight or defined series.
Boeing 777 availability questions
Are all listed Boeing 777 variants currently available?
No. The list shows variants that may be assessed, not confirmed inventory. Availability must be established for the specific aircraft, dates, contract structure and proposed operation.
Can the Boeing 777 be requested for both ACMI and charter?
Yes, both structures may be assessed. ACMI is intended for an airline capacity programme, while full charter provides dedicated capacity for an agreed flight or series. Feasibility and commercial terms depend on the actual programme.
Does the range map confirm that a route can be operated?
No. It is an indicative great-circle reference. Route capability must be checked for the precise aircraft, payload, weather, routing, fuel reserves, airport performance and regulatory requirements.
Send your Boeing 777 requirement. Every proposed programme remains subject to confirmation by ACMI Lease and, where applicable, by the responsible AOC holder, together with aircraft availability, operational feasibility, regulatory approval and agreed commercial terms.
