Regional aircraft ACMI lease options
Start with the seats, routes, airports and schedule you need. We can then assess a suitable regional aircraft ACMI lease option and operating arrangement.
- Regional turboprops
- ATR 42 and ATR 72 families · Dash 8 family, including Q400
- Regional jets
- Embraer ERJ and E-Jet families · Bombardier CRJ family
- Other regional types
- We can also assess other passenger turboprops and regional jets for the programme
Potential aircraft options for assessment. An aircraft is considered available only after confirmation by ACMI Lease and, where applicable, by the responsible AOC holder for the proposed programme.
Need short-haul capacity for seasonal demand, route development, AOG cover or an aircraft delivery delay? ACMI Lease assesses regional aircraft ACMI lease and wet lease requirements for airlines and operators.
Regional aircraft include turboprops and regional jets with different cabin, runway and operating characteristics. For example, baggage space or an airport restriction may influence the aircraft choice. Send your minimum seats, airports, schedule and dates so we can assess suitable options.

Regional turboprop ACMI lease
A regional turboprop ACMI lease may suit shorter sectors, thinner routes and airports where runway or infrastructure constraints need careful assessment. For example, potential families include the ATR 42, ATR 72 and Dash 8, including Q400 variants.
The selected model and cabin configuration determine the usable seat count. In addition, variants within the same family can differ in weight, performance and equipment. See the ATR aircraft family for manufacturer information; any proposed aircraft still requires individual operational confirmation.
Turboprop selection should consider runway length, elevation, temperature, obstacles, surface condition and available ground support. Sector time, baggage demand and cabin requirements also affect whether a turboprop is suitable for the programme.
Regional jet ACMI lease
A regional jet ACMI lease can support feeder services, lower-demand routes, frequency increases and temporary replacement flying. For example, potential aircraft include Embraer ERJ and E-Jet families and Bombardier CRJ variants.
The Embraer E-Jet family includes several aircraft sizes, while CRJ and earlier ERJ families cover other regional capacity bands. Do not select the type from a family name alone: the actual seating plan, baggage space and route performance need to meet the requirement.
For a jet programme, specify any minimum cabin height, seating layout, premium cabin, carry-on baggage and checked-baggage needs. Also check airport compatibility, turnaround arrangements and ground equipment for the proposed aircraft.
Choosing between a turboprop and regional jet
The best choice depends on the complete schedule rather than seat count alone. A turboprop may be practical on shorter sectors or at constrained airports, while a regional jet may better fit other stage lengths, passenger expectations or timetable requirements.
- Required seats on each flight and acceptable aircraft-size flexibility.
- Sector lengths, block times and planned daily rotations.
- Runway, elevation, temperature and airport operating limitations.
- Passenger baggage, sports equipment and special-load requirements.
- Cabin layout, onboard service and accessibility requirements.
- Ground handling, stairs, power and other station support.
- Positioning, crew base and maintenance-support arrangements.
Published range or capacity figures do not confirm that an aircraft can carry the requested load on a particular route. For this reason, the responsible operator must assess the actual aircraft, payload, fuel, weather, reserves and airport conditions.
Planning a regional aircraft ACMI lease
ACMI covers aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance. The supplying AOC holder operates under its Air Operator Certificate and retains the applicable operational responsibilities. Read what an ACMI lease includes for the wider commercial structure.
Provide the full schedule and expected monthly block hours. For example, several short sectors can require different crew, maintenance and station support from fewer, longer sectors, even with similar total flying hours.
- Operating base, destinations and preferred start date.
- Contract duration, monthly block hours and number of sectors.
- Minimum seats and required cabin configuration.
- Aircraft-family preferences and acceptable alternatives.
- Any aircraft-age or technical restrictions.
- Traffic rights, permits and regulatory requirements.
- Budget structure and flexibility on dates or programme length.
Fuel, airport charges, ground handling, positioning, crew accommodation and other costs require clear allocation in the offer. The quotation should also identify the aircraft, commercial terms, utilisation commitment and responsible AOC holder.
Regional aircraft charter for groups
We can also assess regional aircraft for whole-aircraft charters, including sports teams, corporate movements, tour groups and event travel. Provide passenger numbers, dates, airports, baggage and any equipment that must travel with the group.
Select FULL CHARTER in the request form for a dedicated flight, return journey or series. Select ACMI for airline wet lease capacity. See aircraft charter flights for tour operators and groups for the full-charter service.
How ACMI Lease develops the proposal
Depending on the requirement, the solution may involve aircraft owned or managed by ACMI Lease, aircraft placed or dry-leased with partner AOC holders, aircraft acquired or financed with our involvement, established AOC-partner capacity or selected third-party capacity.
The proposal should identify the exact aircraft variant, seating plan, operating terms and responsible AOC holder. Listing an aircraft family on this page does not represent confirmed availability for a particular date or route.
Regional aircraft ACMI lease questions
Which regional aircraft should we request?
First, define the operational requirement. Next, specify the minimum seats, routes, airports, schedule and cabin needs, plus any flexibility. We can then compare suitable turboprop and regional-jet options.
Can a regional aircraft ACMI lease cover an AOG or seasonal programme?
We can assess short-term, seasonal or replacement programmes. However, lead time depends on aircraft location, crew readiness, maintenance status, positioning and the necessary operating and regulatory approvals.
Are the aircraft types listed here currently available?
Listing a family or variant does not confirm availability. An aircraft is considered available only after confirmation by ACMI Lease and, where applicable, by the responsible AOC holder for the proposed programme.
Request regional aircraft capacity
Send your regional aircraft ACMI lease requirement through the aircraft request form. Choose ACMI for airline wet lease or FULL CHARTER for a whole-aircraft flight or series. Include the minimum seats, dates, base, routes and any preferred aircraft family.
